Three Muses: Zlightly Zetti

A POLITE REQUEST
"Run mad as often as you choose, but do not faint"Jane Austin, "Love and Friendship"

Prompted by marvelous Marie over at the Three Muses challenge blog, I have, this morning, been engaging in of the gentle art of Zettiology. Indeed, so gentle is my Zettying, methinks it might not make the Zetti class. However, it is my first ever offering to contain wings, pointy hat and fairy wand and has kept me quietly amused for a several hours.
The lady, said to be a member of the Dundas family (what? You've never heard of them? where have you been?) was painted by Henry Pickering in 1754. In 1989, Christies of London described Ms. Dundas as an important British picture: "the property of a gentleman" and estimated her worth at between 10,000 and 12,000 pounds. Now, somewhere. she hangs on a wall, in the house of a rather well-off person who is completely oblivious to her "other life" as an aspiring Zetti model.

I have just discovered that his week's Theme Thursday challenge is WINGS
and Illustration Friday is Pattern, so, as Ms. Dundas is in an exhibitionist mood, we're going to fly over there.

Lumi, I saw this first at DAQ and left a comment there. Your picture is superb - everything about it from the elegantly costumed Zetti lady to her scrumptious wings. I love it - a lot. Thanks so much for finding the time to join in the challenge this week with such a stunning piece of art.
PS - don't worry about trying to link your posts. There are a lot of hassles with the blogs of late. Just type in "My picture is on my blog" and we can find you by clicking on your name which takes us to your profile and then to your blog.

You've taken Zetti to a whole new level, Lumi. This is gorgeous. I love the way you took the elements of this style and put your own unmistakable stamp on them. The dress, btw, is to die for!

Hi Miss Lumi! Oh, I've been away too long and I have had an email to you floating around in my small brain too. I've been trying to finally catch up on blog visiting and I saved you for last as I want to visit both blogs and your work always makes me want to linger and savor it.

You are so flawless in your work. You create pieces that look like paintings from a master and achieve the highest quality of surrealism . . . the kind that makes you like twice to figure out exactly what is a bit off from reality. So many attempts, like mine, at surrealism leave the viewer with trying to figure out what is real and your's find the delicate trick of making it look so real you have to figure out what isn't.

I'm off to explore some more.

Glad you liked the picture...but of course, it was read on Today.

Unlikely to be in Lyon this year, as I have tickets for a rather attractive rugby game the previous Saturday...which I thought Mrs P would like but she is likely to be in Benin!!
