S.A.D.

REMAINS OF THE DAY

digital image created with my iPhone

The end of the year has always been a melancholy time for me. This may be due to the lack of daylight and I suspect that I suffer from Seasonal Affective disorder, which is strange as I love the twilight hours and the cloak of ambiguity they cast across landscapes and interiors.
Yesterday was spent on steam trains, travelling through the frosty Cotswold countryside and the image above is a gentle composite of two of my photographs.

Something about riding a train that always brings back pleasant memories for me, and I hope it did for you as well. All the best to You & Yours from Me & Mine for 2010. I look forward to many more of your fantastic images in the next year!

How can one be in good old England and be sad?
Kidding, I know what you mean!
What about trying some Bach flowers? They always work.

The imagine is a melancholy beauty,

thinking of you and sending love,

I think the end of the year is a melancholy time... we are saying goodbye to a year and that is a ritual that lives in our collective psyche. the new year is always a bit creepy... we don't know what it will bring, at least with the old one, we have already weathered the worst ... I think though the new year is exciting too.. so heres to blessings of love and life without fear!
oh ...and rescue remedy pastilles are good for sad! xo

I love your picture .....

I get that too (S.A.D.) .... it's been a pretty good go around so far though which I attribute to Vitamin D. My husband says that I never really start complaining til the end of January though .... so we shall see. It really sucks though.
