Who Knows Where The Time Goes?

NOSTALGIE
Across the evening sky, all the birds are leaving
But how can they know it's time for them to go?
Before the winter fire, I will still be dreaming
I have no thought of time

For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?

Sad, deserted shore, your fickle friends are leaving
Ah, but then you know it's time for them to go
But I will still be here, I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?

And I am not alone while my love is near me
I know it will be so until it's time to go
So come the storms of winter and then the birds in spring again
I do not fear the time

For who knows how my love grows?
And who knows where the time goes?

This is so lovely in the simplicity of the composition. I love the great blank space between the scrolled edge and the clock. At 1st glance it's simply space - but there's a lot of texture and detail there.

A very neat poem too .... I'm really looking forward to the return on birdsong in the spring ....

What a lovely post! Your art is mystical and hypnotic, and I loved the poem too.

I cannot believe I missed this! I just read your profile and discovered that you live in my favorite place in the world! Five years ago, I visited the Cotswolds with my husband for our 2oth aniversary, and I would leave everything to live there forever, if I could. We came in June to see the gardens, and neither of us wanted to leave. The people were so warm and friendly, and it was truly like traveling into a fairy tale. I am just so excited to know you are there. Where do you live? We stayed in Bourton on the Water and Broadway. Sudley Castle was my favorite garden. We long for the day we can return and I want to meet you when we do!

Love,
Alberta
